Did you ensure the backup destination capacity/space is more than enough?

Hi, Please let me know what backup settings are configured? Back up files or the image of the computer? This could happens if the Windows Event Log and the Task Scheduler services are disabled. Try the following steps to fix the problem. 1. Click Start -> Services.msc in the search box -> Press {ENTER} 2. Double-click Windows Event Log 3. In the Start type list box, ensure that Automatic is selected 4. Click Start to start the service, if it's not already running 5. Repeat to start the Task Scheduler service. 6. Close the Services console and restart the computer to check the result. Hi, The Task Scheduler service depends on Remote Procedure Call (RPC), DCOM Server Process Launcher and RPC Endpoint Mapper services to start. Please use the same way to check these three services. If any one doesn't exist, go to the download the registries from the following link and import the corresponding one. After that, go to start the Task Scheduler again. For 32-bit OS http://cid-9fb18a384ebfc662.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Documents/RPC.zip For 64-bit OS http://cid-9fb18a384ebfc662.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Documents/RPC-64.zip Note: Before importing the registry, please export the following registry for backup. Have you try swapping the external drive onto another usb port? Alternatively backup on a cd/dvd, internal drive or on a network

Hi, Based on the current situation, the most efficient way is performing the in-place upgrade. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099 http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
