Win7Professional-Business-Group Policy
I Recently allowed my new job (shipping Company) to use my own laptop to upgrade from Win 7 Home Prem to their edition Win 7 Professional. They added their User account (ship comp logon) to my laptop, and then added my own user account to access my desktop and settings. I could not regain a Lost password, company could not even help. I resolved that issue, however I noticed that when I signed onto my desktop there were alot of security restrictions. Could not use my search field, could not download etc....Had another tech repair and restore my user account, removed the ship companys sign by allowing the hidden user admin account and will have my company reinstall their user account (shipping company sign on). What can I say to them to leave the security, or group policy settings or however the heck they configured intack and do not restrict. I am a mild informed user of Windows 7 settings, policy control etc.....so this part I am not familiar with.

Restrictions on a user account is as per the account type. Standard users have restrictions and cannot install software etc.... Make sure your login account is a member of local admin group on the computer. Your account can be a local account or domain account. Make sure your account is a member of local administrators group on the computer. I hope this helps.Manoj Sehgal

Hi, I would like to verify if your laptop joined the domain? Please refer to the following steps to add your account into admin group. 1. Click Start -> right click computer in the right pane-> choose manage -> Local Users and Groups -> Groups 2. In the middle pane, double click Administrators, add your account into list. If you don't have permission to perform this, contact your company administrator to do this. Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
