Will rexec be supported in Windows 7?
Rexec was removed from all but two versions of Vista (Ultimate & enterprise), yet any Win XP had it built in. Even getting rexec to run on Vista Ultimate was a chore. How will rexec work in Win7. Will Virtualization be the way to do it?

I assume you mean remote execution from Rexec. Regarding the support of rexec on Win7, you can post the query to Windows 7 Misc. If this is supported in XP, it should work on XP VM also. Thanks, Vrijesh Kothari **** This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights. You assume all risk for your use.

Rexec is not included in Windows 7, but as Vrijesh Kothari said, you will be able to do it in Windows XP Mode. -Nick

I got around to finally installing the Win XP Mode Virtualization and am happy to report that rexec (REMOTE EXECUTION) does in fact work while in that mode. Now, if anyone can please help me figure out how to launch a batch file containing my rexec command but without opening XP Mode and then clicking on my batch file. I see you can launch applications (not other files) in Win7 from the Windows XP Mode Application folder. This allows you to stay in Win 7 and launch your program via XP mode without opening XP mode first. How can I pop my batch file in that XP mode Application folder? Or how else to go about it?
