Microsoft in its infinite wisdom did not include the Fax feature in all Windows Vista editions. This was much to their embarrasment as the frustration of users who didn't purchase business or ultimate versions brought forth even more anti-Vista sentiment to the community. So, in view of this will Windows Fax and Scan be included in all the Windows 7 editions? If not, why?

Disregard the below, earlier response. I missed what you were really asking. Why would one version of Windows 7 include Windows Fax and Scan and not another? The economics factor of Added Value. It is just like when a higher trim level of a vehicle has anti-lock brakes while the lower trim level does not. At the Start Menu search dialog box, type fax. It is right there big as day.

I asked this very question after finding fax missing from Vista Home Premium. The answer I got from MS was a low demand, after doing a survey of Windows users with a large majority saying that they didn't require it. I had to purchase a third party application.

I hope Microsoft will restore the Fax Console to all versions of Windows 7. Although I don't like sending faxes, the reality of life is that I keep finding myself in situations where I either need to senda documentby fax or receiving one via fax. Third party fax software for Windows PC have virtually disappeared in recent years.

well my connex fax / modem is working happily in rc, which i see is 'ultimate', but i think i read it's bundled in all versions this time around.
