Will Microsoft Works 8.5 work with windows 7 64 bit?
Hi,
Vista on my computer was replaced with windows7 due to a failure of the OS. The HD was formatted and i lost Microsoft Works which came with the computer. I purchased Works 8.5 and it installed well, but any file I create will not open. The message
is " Works cannot open the project you selected. The file may be corrupted". Evrything else I installed on the computer has worked ( printer scanner ect. ) I installed Corell word perfect 5 and it works but I am used to Microsoft Works and would rather have
that. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the disc but it does not help.
Thanks,
Malog

Two points:
1. I can't help with your problem, but I can tell you that according
to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=works%208.5
or http://tinyurl.com/6xq6yhg
Works 8 and Works 9 are both compatible with Windows 7. So I assume
that Works 8.5 is too.
2. You say WordPerfect 5, but I assume that you mean WordPerfect x5.
You may be unfamiliar with it, but if you have it, I strongly
recommend that you get familiar with it. It is an excellent program,
and far more capable that any version of Works.

From old ~2004 HP PC, install CD-Works 7.2 (works) for me with
W. 7 Home Prem. 64 bit in Mac Pro bootcamp.
