Will Enable CTCP increase bandwidth throughput?
We are trying to get better throughput /bandwidth between a windows 2008 r2 server and a windows 7 (both 64bit) machine. The 2008 has congestionprovider=ctcp and the windows 7 has congestionprovider=none. Has anybody had success or better performance by using ctcp on windows 7? Thanks Craig Craig

Hi, Since it related with Windows Server 2008R2, I suggest asking Windows Server Forum for further help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsserver · The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Hi Leo This is related to windows 7. Windows 7 supports compound tcp but disables it by default. Im curious if anybody has any testing results using ctcp in windows 7. I will post in a 2008 server forum as well though. Thanks Craig Craig

Hi, You can follow these steps to enable CTCP: 1 Click “Start” 2 Go to “All Programs”---“Accessories” 3 Right click “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator” 4 Input “netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp” Regards, Leo HuangPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I am curious how this is answering this question? You simply put the instructions on how to enable it when thats not what he was asking. He asked " has any testing results using ctcp in windows 7." not how do I enable it. I am researching this same thing and found this. you even copied the first response you had which didn't address what he was asking either.
