I had the same issue and the result ended up being that the router was not compatable with the OS or network card for the machine I was using. I replaced the router with another and it worked fine. You can trie updating the network adapters on the machine prior to jumping to that conclusion though.

Hello guys, Im having a problem with my Lenovo ideapad z370 win 7 64 bit. It only detects the wifi coming from a router but when i tried to connect, it foes go through. However, when i used my desktop (Xp sp3) with usb wireless connector, it smoothly connect. Waht is wrong with my laptop wifi configuration??? PLS. HELP. THANK YOU.

Well so far the first and the foremost resolution is to check it the wireless network name is already save in your manage wireless network, if yes then remove it and then try to connect again. if no then please specify the router and encryption type for more help go through this link How To Delete Wireless Network?
