Wifi Connected, but No Access
Ever since I installed Windows 7 I have been having this really odd problem. It first occurred on one machine, now it is happening on another machine. I installed Windows 7, setup the native Wifi within the computer. Then at some later point in time the Wifi connection does not work anymore. I change the profile, delete, add, etc the profile. I even tweak the Wifi access point. No go. If I plug in a USB Wifi adapter everything works again. What happens with the Wifi adapter is that it can connect, but cannot access the Internet. I have tried the connection with a completely open network, without any keys. This has not only occurred on one computer, but today it happened to a second computer. Both of them were laptops. What gives? I have a strange feeling there is something within Windows 7 that is not letting me completely reconfigure things.

I suspect it's the wireless adapter's drivers. Have a look on the manufacturer's website for updated drivers. If necessary, try XP or Vista drivers, but install them in compatibility mode.

I went to the HP site and installed the drivers for Windows 7. No luck... Here is a question, I remember from Linux that the Wireless drivers are dynamically loaded into the wireless device. Could it be that the device is corrupted? The thing is that the connection to the wireless device exists and is indicated as such. What does not exist is the Internet Access.

Hmmm.... Now it works.... All I did was unbind IP6, and ubind QofS, and things seem to be ok... Go figure? Actually could somebody explain what happened?

IP6 is next gen protocol we will be using, right now some routers do not handle this very well.so when you unbind it from the nic your connection no longer tries to use the ip6.windows 7 homegroup uses IP6...
