Widows 7 Home Premium network icon showing network not connected when I am connected
Windows is not showing my wired network connection. Have a red X in the system tray and says "Not Connected - no connections are available" I can goto ipconfig and I do have an ip /release and /renew has no effect back in the Network & Sharing center. I disabled the NIC in windows and in BIOS with no effect when turned back on. If I click on the "See full map" link it says it can't because my network location is set to public. I can't change it to home no active networks are listed. In windows explorer I can see the other computers and the router when I select network yet I get a yellow bar informing me that I'm not connected to a network.

Hi, I would like to confirm whether you could connect to network currently. If you do, you may try to boot into safe mode with networking to check the result. Also, you could install the latest network adapter driver for test: 1. On the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. Follow the instructions. 2. Restart your computer. 3. Install the latest driver from the manufacturer website. Hope it helps. Hi, Do you have an incoming connection? If so, you could delete the incoming connection for test: Red X in System Tray - Caused By Incoming Connections Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
