Why my Ad hoc wireless network bandwidth is limited to 11 Mbps ?
Hi , there
We have 2 laptops : hp DV8-1090 (win7 x64 ultimate & built in Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN wireless adapter 802.11a/b/g/n) and Toshiba Satellite A65-S1762 (win xp x86 sp3 & built in ATHEROS AR5004G wireless adapter 802.11a/b/g)
I've set up Ad hoc wireless network (directly) between them , but it didn't work at 54 Mbps! and is limited to 11 Mbps ; ( however in practice , it works about 5.5 Mbps! )
plz see:

I've search my problem too much and ask it in the other network forums , but nobody hadn't any idea or solution
Look , in 2005 , some said in this page they could solve that problem , but I didn't understand exactly how:

now , my question is : How to set up a wireless network directly between these two laptop to support 54 Mbps or above?
Thanks , advance

Hmm.... I've never played with ad-hoc wireless stuff.... But I can tell you that 11Mbps is the 802.11b speed limit, so make sure that the speed isn't being bumped down to b (11 Mbps) instead of g (54 Mbps).

Guide? This is one of those 'you would have no clue what settings is doing this'.
Reading your article, it sounds like ad-hoc is limited to 11 Mbps..Hmm. Not sure what to tell you.

Thank you ; maybe you're right
I'll search more , because I think there is a solution!!!
About two years ago I remember my nephew set up a network that had a very high speed. He said his laptop as an "access point" has been introduced.
I should ask him.just windows XP!
