Why is my Windows 7 VPN transfer files lower than XP?
My company had several Windows XP computers that they transfer documents over the Windows VPN client but now that we have changed to Windows 7 it seems to take twice as long to transfer files over the VPN. Also these are small files maybe a 1 or 2 megabytes. We have the exact same internet it seems to be a Windows 7 issue. Is there anything that can help fix this problem?

In Windows 7, Remote Differential Compression is involved. Remote Differential Compression Overview http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754372.aspx However if any network device does not support it well, the network performance will be affected. You may disable RDC and check the result. That didn't seem to make a difference in the speed. We have a XP machine in the same office and it works just fine but on the Windows 7 it seems to take 3 times the amount of time. Thanks for your help.
