Why is Windows 8 so buggy?

I have retail release of Windows 8 Pro + multiple updates installed on an i7 laptop laptop with 8GB of RAM, and since I installed the upgrade from Windows 7 I have spent more time installing upgrades and forcing hard shutdowns on a hung laptop than working on it, also Windows 8 regularly fails to connect my domain on desktops or any network on the upgraded laptop until re-booted. It hangs more times than it actually shuts down, all this on two high end desktops and a laptop which never gave any trouble on Windows 7.  Why do I feel like a guinnea pig?  Windows 8ista has a truer ring to it every day I use it, if it gets any worse it might even get as bad as Windows 8illenium.  I should have known bette,r Microsoft have done it again, releasing a beta version as a full release version!!!!!

Thank god my accounts laptop is still on Windows 7 Pro SP1, A working OS...  Even Vista is more stable than Windows 8 at present and that's setting the bar very low.

In answer to your question "Why is Windows 8 So Buggy?" I'd have to say the fault likely lies with drivers - specifically, imperfect drivers for a particular set of hardware and/or in a particular set of conditions.

I say this because it's not buggy in the way you describe on every system.

This, of course, gives Microsoft the ability to excuse themselves from the problem and blame the manufacturers.

Some of that may be justified, but...

Microsoft seems to be documenting their system less and less well as time goes on.  You can't even get information on what a particular event log entry means any more.  I'd be surprised if a driver writer could easily lay hands on everything he/she needs to code a really good driver without a lot of reading between the lines and relying on a lot of past experience.

It's a dark time for computing.

See how they didn't even bother to reply to you?

Microsoft are clearly the most ignorant bunch of people walking. The worst thing is they think they can get away with it, of course anyone who has knowledge of actual business knows better.

What's happened a bunch of geeks who know about computers have managed to make massive sums of money, they are just jumped up garage mechanics when all is said and done, but now they are convinced they are captains of industry and business people, they are certainly not the latter, they couldn't even run a small business, they wouldn't have the wherewithal.

I'll tell you a short tale well known in business: Woodbines cigarettes had the vast majority of the market share once upon a time, so they became arrogant, they said to themselves "Everyone smokes Woodbines" a bit like how everyone uses PC's "we don't need to worry about PR, we don't need to worry about marketing, let's not bother" Within a matter of less than 5 years, if I am not wrong, their competitors absolutely smashed them into the ground...nowadays everyone knows "No one smokes Woodbines"

That is what will happen to Microsoft, the level of ignorance on this site, is disgusting, even if some microsoft guy were to read this, his arrogance would no doubt take over "Hang on I am a jumped up garage mechanic earning x gjillion a year, what do you know? Clearly, I know more than you, and in time you will see that.

They deserve it. The product they have released here is not just buggy....I don't mind the UI, it's not complicated really, it's just a glorified start menu that takes over the whole screen, but hanging all the time, all the problems here, the product is simply not fit for purpose, and if it were a car it would have been recalled long ago,  them hiding behind their office door is disgraceful, and they know it.

I have lost faith in Microsoft, why is it most Linux distros (Don't like Ubuntu, why not just get mint it's already sorted) can be stable, can work, and can do everything without issue? Why is it VLC can play any type of file (all for free) but they are coming up with nonsense like X box video which can do nothing? Maybe they should introduce music match jukebox then they could be the real cutting edge, it's absolutely pathetic.

There is an old saying in UK business, it was a real problem in the UK manufacturing sector before Japanisation (truthfully it is still an issue, but at least they are aware) The saying is that "Just because he is the best worker, doesn't mean he will be the best boss" Or conversely "Just because he is a bad worker, doesn't  mean he is a bad manager" and that applies here, the reason these ignorant people at Microsoft are just ignoring you/me/everyone on the site and thinking they are getting away with it, is because they will have senior people in their organisation making decisions who, in the real world, should just be inputting data for 25 k a year, they are going to change or they are going to see in time, history never lies.
