Why is Win7 changing resolutions when duplicating screens?
Whenever I set it to duplicate, Win7 forces my LCD monitor to change resolution to match my tv. I have made sure that I've set my monitor as the main display. Is there no way to be sure that my monitor doesn't change resolutions Also why when using the shortcut Win-P I have to select "Projector" to change back to my monitor? Could the reason be because my LCD monitor is listed as "2"... Screenshot... http://users.rcn.com/andyd2k/lcd.jpg I see no way to change this

Try making your computer monitor the primary monitor.

I have. If you look at the link, you'll see my monitor is set to primary

According to the link it shows your computer being the secondary (the monitor in the front is always your computer's monitor).

Yes, that is the problem. But if you look below, you will see it's the main display. The question is how do I change it from #2 to #1? Because from what I can tell, it isn't possible.

Have you tried to "fiddle" around with any settings?

Hi AndyD77, The screen resolution setting is depended on the display card. Please check if the screen resolution can be changed to the correct one while in duplicated view. If the screen resolution cannot be changed, please update the display card driver to the one which is compatible with Windows 7. Also, you can contact the hardware manufacturer directly to confirm this issue. Regards, Linda

I already tried reinstalling drivers and made sure it was WHQL. It didn't matter. No matter what I did, the OS assumed my LCD monitor was not the main display. But, it corrected itself. It's now showing up correctly and everything is working properly. I have no idea what changed though
