Why does Windows 7 not recognize my notebook's wirless adapter (at all!)?
I recently upgraded to Win7 on my notebook (Gateway MT6458) and the Marvell TopDog 802.11n mini PCI wireless adapter isn't recognized by Windows 7. At all. I've tried to install new drivers and have gone as far as to run the installation as an admin and in compatibility mode to no avail. The LED indicating wireless networking is working when I use the keyboard shortcut to turn it on and off. Only the Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller is recognized in the Device manager, and I can connect with a hard-wired cat5 connection. I'm about to pull my friggin' hair out. Please help.

Solved it. I ran Windows Update and magically it had harbored several key items to be downloaded at a later time I guess. So I ran the updater and after a restart (which is 10x faster than Vista...thanks MSFT), voila.
