Why do I have to type my username in when unlocking my Windows 7 workstation?
I'm trying to find a fix for a rather annoying problem... We have a Server 2008 R2 domain with Windows 7 Pro workstations. When a user is about to logon, the system remembers the last logged on username and so you don't have to re-type it.
However, if you are already logged on and you lock the machine, when you unlock the machine you have to re-type your username and your password.... Is there a GPO that will automatically remember the username of the person who locked the machine so we
don't have to re-type it? Thanks much.

The better path to avoid problems with lock(s) is disabling locking in GPO. Namely in school or university labs this is a must.

Hi,
I suggest you can try the following:
1. Open the Start menu, and type secpol.msc in the search line and press Enter.
2. In the left pane, expand Local Policies, and click on Security Options
3. In the right pane, double click on Interactive
logon: Display user information when the session is locked.
4. Select the option you want, and click on OK.
Hope this helps.
