I deeply regret installing your Windows 8.1. I am not a computer specialist and now all I have is problems. My laptop sceen is going nuts and my HP printer settings are gone. I can not print anything anymore. The drivers cd that came with the printer will not install, nor will I be able to install downloaded drivers for my HP printer.

Microsoft... I hated your Windows 8, I hate your 8.1 even more for the mess it has created !

Please tell me what I can do.

I would start by ensuring all Critical and Important Updates are installed.

Right click the start button and select control panel.

Then you can go you Windows Update (If you can not see it listed change the view to large icons).  Search for new updates and install them.  Reboot and continue until it show no updates.

This should correct the video issues as there are a number of Intel video updates lately.  If it does not correct the video issue, I suggest you go to your laptop manufacturers website and download a windows 8.1 video driver for your laptop.

I then suggest you go to the HP Website and get a universal printer driver for your printer, or download the specific Windows 8.1 driver for your printer.

Windows 8.1 is much more stable than Windows 8 was, once you get your updates in place and fresh drivers installed you should be in good shape.
