Why can't you open a file in the last row of a List view in Windows 7 with a double click?
If you go to a folder with over a 100 files (like your music folder) and if you use List view in Windows 7, when you double click on any file in the last row on the right, it doesn't open it - it just moves the files to the left. I think I heard about this before but I didn't know this bug made it to Win7 RTM without being fixed.

Please understand that it is not caused by "double click". When we left click (or right click) on the last row, it will move to the left. This is caused that when we select List View, system will try to show the whole row when we choose the last row. Thus if there is a long file name in the row, this row will move to left (actually it is the slid-bar moved to right for one row) to show the whole row. Here is a screenshot. When we move the right side of the window over the line in red, when we click the last row, it will moved to left. The blank area beside the red line is considered belong to left row.

Thank you kindly for explaining this to me. I fully understand. I am however at a loss to explain this as it seems to me that this Clippy-style beahavior is hardly helpful. Do you remember Microsoft Office Clippy? So Windows 7 is saying "I see that you are double clicking on a file whose name has 36 characters but you can only see 35 of them. Let me show you the entire name first , then you can look for it again and decide if you wish to open it (after I moved it out of your current field of vision.) Clippy Redux.
