Why can't I put a password on my computer?
I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, and I have four accounts. They are all administrator. Whenever I put a password on any of them it works - until I turn off the computer. When I turn it back on whether it is the next day or the next second, all the passwords and password hints are gone. You can just click the user and it logs you on! Can someone help?1 person needs an answerI do too

It sounds like someone else with access to your computer is removing the passwords.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

No. I promise that's not the case. I can be sitting here, put a password on one of the accounts or all of them, turn it off and back on and they'll all be gone. All while I'm sitting right here.

Then I'm afraid I don't know. So start with the basics: The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't? The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this? Be sure the computer is clean: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
