Why a Win7 professional client doesn't get automatically login to a Win2000 based member server? My company has a Win2008 based Domain Controller. All PC clients have been joined as domain PCs. And we joined a Win2000 member server to the domain. The Win2000 server is our Accounting System server. Why the Win2000 server asked the Win7 client to input username and password even the Win7 client has login to the DC successfully? Ironically, the Win2000 member server never asks a WinXP client to input username and password after the WinXP client has login to the DC successfully. Where did we setup wrongly in Win7? How to correct it?

BSH_2507, First of all i recomend you to upgrade the operating system of your server to a supported operating version. As Windows 2000 Server is a not supported product anymore. :) Now a couple of questions: 1. After you enter your credentinals on your windows 7 machine are you able to authenticate success full? 2. Did you check the if the time/timezone of windows 7 matches the time/timezone on your 2000 server. 3. Are your DNS servers good configured on your Windows 7 machine and windows 2000 server? 4. If you set the registery key that is explaind here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itpronetworking/thread/f946773b-5e24-4c63-8655-4ac2bd79c5e8 Kind Regards DFTIM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER
