Why Windows display calibration fails to load at startup?
I've created .icm files for my 2 monitors and assigned them as the system defaults and also enabled "Use Windows display calibration" as a system default in order to load the color calibration and LUTs appropriately. This works fine, except that it usually fails to load the LUTs on startup. Once in a while it does so successfully, but I'd say 95% of the time it fails to do so. Instead I need to manually open the Color Management control panel, select the Advanced tab and click on the "Reload current calibrations" button. At that point the LUTs get loaded and the colors appear corrected as they should. This seems to stick (when the monitors are awakened from sleep they don't lose their calibration) but if I need to reboot the computer for any reason I need to manually load the calibration again. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi Magritte, This issue can be related to the display card and its driver. You can try reloading the display card driver by the steps below and see if the issue can be resolved: 1. Click the Start Button, type Device Manager in the Search bar and press "Enter". Click Continue if necessary. 2. Double click to expand the Display adapters. 3. Right click the display card and click "Uninstall". 4. Restart the computer. 5. Run Windows Update to see if the driver can be downloaded and installed properly. If the driver cannot be downloaded, you may refer to the below mentioned link and use the steps provided accordingly. You may even contact the manufacturer for getting any updates regarding the drivers: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly For more information about color management in Windows 7, please refer to the following articles: Windows Color System Calibrate your display Color management settings: frequently asked questions Regards, Linda Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I always install the latest drivers from Nvidia's homepage. I usually upgrade the existing driver. Would it be useful to manually uninstall the current driver (from add/remove) then run the latest driver install package from Nvidia after a reboot? Thanks.
