Why I have to reset (netsh winsock reset) each week in my windows 8.1? (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET)

Each Week, Suddenly I lost intermittently my internet conection with a "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET" error.

When I use "netsh winsock reset" I can avoid this problem temporarily. But, on few days this problem appears again.

I have not any special configuration in my copy of windows 8.1 except Hyper-v.

My Network Card is a "Gigabit Intel 82578DM" version 12.6.47.1

I'm searching all internet but I have not any clue about why this happens.

Ideas?

I have not any special configuration in my copy of windows 8.1 except Hyper-v.

That could do it.  Since a recent W8.1.2 update I have lost connectivity for my Hyper-V VM.  I have found some tools and information to try to understand what is happening.  Still working on it.

So, you could try using NVSPBind to capture the state of your networking before and after your workaround procedure to see what it changes.

Also, try using the troubleshooters but don't just rely on the GUI to inform you about what is wrong.  I think there are deficiencies in the troubleshooters.  I don't know how to format the .etl files "properly" but have been getting some insight by capturing the text I can extract from them using SysInternals strings program.

As far I see... It is a problem with DHCP / DNS times in my network. Windows 7 machines doesn't have this behavior. But several Windows 8.1 machines reports similar problematic (Temporary lack of internet connectivity)

Hi,

Do you mean only some Windows 8.1 not all Windows 8.1 have this issue?

Will you please try below steps to solve this issue:

1) open your control panel.

2) type in device into the search bar.

3) click on device manager.

4) click the arrow next to network adapters.

5) right click on each one of the items that pop up in the drop down menu and click properties.

6) find which of your devices have power management and UN-CHECK ANY BOXES!!!

7) restart your computer.

In addition, it is suggest you update your network drives and check the result.

NOPE :-( No power savings enabled in devices.

"Netsh Winsock Reset" works for days... but heavy network use (big downloads/uploads) may lost connection again.

I suspects now in a hidden part of Google Chrome.
