Why I'm going back to XP for gaming!
Ok, Months following the realease of Vista, I've put up with awful framerates in World of Warcraft, since then the "nvlddmkm.sys" error has made the gaming community's life a nightmare,I was glad to try Win7 and hope for an end to the problems, but no, login to WoW and leave it for 1 or 2 minutes at the login screen, then *BAM* bsod and "nvlddmkm.sys" error, looks like there's no end in sight, It begs the question are Microsoft even interested in creating a stable O/S for gaming anymore?Sticking with good old XP for gaming until I hear different.

I've been gaming on Vista for years. Personally I'd say it's been way more robust than XP the Witcher's the only game that was twitchy with Vista. I've now moved over to Win7 for the Beta period and having no problems at all, so far. Batman Lego, Guild wars and Lord of the rings online all working fine under the beta. My unopened WOW box has also been edging closer to the PC in the last few days :)

Nimrodel FTW!Anyway Win7 (and vista) run beautifully on all the games I throw at it (HL2, Crysis, Fallout3, oblivion, LoTRO, Farcry2, F.E.A.R.) The only time I have EVER gotten the stop error on either mine or my wifes system was when using the release drivers with vista (and win 7) once I moved to the latest beta's from nvidia (get them at guru3d.com) never seen the issue again. And hell once you play a game with DX10 you really can't ever go backDreadreaver said:...It begs the question are Microsoft even interested in creating a stable O/S for gaming anymore?Sticking with good old XP for gaming until I hear different. And why do you think it's a MS issue? By definition this is an Nvidia issue, simple as that.

The problem I'm having is that punkbuster will not support beta OS so if your thinking of buying any games with PB in it don't you won't be able to return opened software and you won't be able to play until PB feel like supporting win 7.

*Shrug*From a Compatability perspective.Windows 7 Beta and RC both run Ultima Online and Everquest smoother/better than Windows XP sp3 does.
