Why Does My Wireless Printer Show up as a Computer?
I'm setting up a home network for three laptops (2 Win7, 1 XP). When I view my Network it shows 4 computers. At first I thought I was somehow connected to another's laptop (I live in an apartment building and understand that can happen) but looking at the fourth computers id it looks like it is my wireless printer (same id number for both). Why would the printer show up twice, once as another computer? It also vanished from the computer list and reappeared. Could it be that I've been hacked and someone is using the printer id?

Is the printer All-In-One device? What is the model? You may install Windows 7 compatible driver for the printer. Please download the driver from the printer manufacturer’s website. If the latest driver does not help, please open the folder C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Device Metadata\dmrccache\en-US. Find the metadata for the printer by checking the DeviceInformation\DeviceInfo.xml file in each folders. Then remove the metadata folder, and reinstall the printer again.Arthur Xie - MSFT
