The download is handled by a download manager written in java. Perhaps you need to update your Java VM? http://www.java.com

iby - If Floppydrive's advice doesn't pan out, you may have an issue with your Windows Live ID. Assuming you started off here, and not somewhere else - normally, you should be able to download it without any problems. You could try creating another Windows Live ID - for the sole purpose of downloading the RC.

Hi,I have the same problem for more than 10 days I'm trying to download this and the x64 version, both give's me the same problem. Also I've tried lots of computer in lots of places, my home Server 2008 x64, my work XP Professional SP3 x86, my friend Vista x86 and x64 SP1 and more ... all of them the same result. I think this might be some thing about IP restriction, because all them was from IRAN. but anyway if know something else tell me.

Sadjad - I think I might have an idea as to what the problem might be in your case. I read an article on ZDNet the past week that mentioned that Windows Live Messenger was being blocked in 5 countries - and Iran was on the list along with Cuba, Syria, Sudan, and North Korea. You can read the article here. The issue in question had to do with "polictical sanctions"...I can't be 100% sure this is the case - but it's entirely possible that the deactivation of Windows Live Messenger - which also operates with a Windows Live ID - might have something to do with your inability to download anything. This may or may not be something that was an intended side effect.

Hi,Maybe this true, maybe. But the problem is I can download anything from microsoft, and I've seen that article but Istill can login to the messenger and all other live products. The only thing remains is what 'floppydrive' told about the 'download is handled by a downloader manager written in java' which I don't think it is true but ifIT IS, it's been 3-4 years that SUN & also GOOGLE abandoned out IPs, this is the only thing I can think of right now. And also I tried to search "Reference #18." or that with "Access Denied" and some other pages in yahoo answers or either in windows live help, comes up but none of them were about"polictical sanctions", and also some other day I was surfing through sony's website and the same "access denied" page comes up and I refreshed the page and it passed, I don't know that this is.Anyway thanks for your reply and hope the political things doesn't cross IT borders.

Sadjad - Honestly - I can't say 100% for sure IF it really is the case - all I'm saying is it could be a possibility. Maybe someone from Microsoft can chime in with a bit more official information on the subject. And I'll 2nd that - politics sucks - regardless of what the motivation - more often than not it just gets in the way of getting constructive things done.
