While using my computer it will sometimes shut down and power off. If I use zoom to zoom into a photo too close it will do this everytime. How can I fix this?

This will always happen when I zoom in too close to a photo or use something like google earth to zoom to a place. the computer just get close to the item being viewed and powers itself off then restarts. This sounds like a hardware problem. Your computer may be overheating and/or components may be failing. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

What causes it? ===============================This could be an overheating issue and it could becaused by a power supply failing but also it may be related to a damaged or outdated video driver.I think I would try reducing the Graphics Hardware Acceleration and see if it makes a difference. If you reduce your Graphics Hardware Accelerationas per the instructions in the following article andrealize an improvement, it's an indication that youneed to update your video driver:(272193) PI: How to TroubleshootGraphics Issueshttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=272193(scroll down to:Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP)John Inzer - MS-MVP - Digital Media Experience

It could be very simple .... like dust bunnies. Get a can of air and blow the dust out of the interior of your PC.Make sure you clean the fan and heatsink for the cpu.You may want to do this outside unless you enjoy eating dust bunnies. Don't forget to unplug your PC before doing this or anytime you remove the cover.
