While peforming 'scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors', I get a message after phase 2 that Windows was unable to complete the operation
I run windows xp on Dell Inspiron 9400 with 4 GB memory. It used to perform the above operation before but lately not performing it.1 person needs an answerI do too

Check the event logs (Event Viewer in Administrative Tools) - any noteworthy events that correspond to the time you were running chkdsk?
Why were you running chkdsk in the first place?
