Which Windows services control the communications between the computer and network devices?
im having a problem with my scanner printer all in one. the printer works just fine but the when i try to scan an image with Windows Fax and Scan it says it cant connect to the printer. What is up with that? The best i can conclude is that i accidentlly turned off one of those services when i was poking around in there to help boost my system performance. The only problem is, i cant decipher the language in those descriptions to make enough sense and determine which one actually allows for uploads from a network device. i can tell which ones i do and dont need but as far as figuring out what each one specifically does is beyond me. So it would be much appreciated if someone could give me a list of every Windows service that in any way, shape, or form might be related to the letting network devices upload data to my computer. As i said, i can print just fine but when i try to scan it says it cant connect. if its not a service problem it would much appreciated if someone could point me in the direction of what the likely diagnosis is. hope this helps, nitrous_74

It should be a driver issue. You need to install Windows 7 compatible fax and scanning driver in Windows 7 and then are able to connect and use the devices. Please download the driver from the manufacturer of the device.Arthur Xie - MSFT
