Where does Sync center save files?
I'm curious. I just started using Sync Center as a way to backup all of my wife's music files that she has stored on a shared drive. Should the drive die--or I want to access the files locally--where does Sync Center save them to on my PC?

Hi, Generally speaking, Sync Center is just an information center. The sync folders and the sync location need to be set by yourself. The following articles may be helpful. Hi Arthur, The links you provided don't say where exactly the files are stored. The closest I've been able to get at was Offline Files Folder\Computers\myPC\WORK which is just a logical name and not the actual name to a folder on any drives (I assume it's C drive). What I am looking for is to map a folder in my say E drive to be the offline folder that syncs with a shared folder on a remote pc called say myPC i.e. E:\OfflineFiles\ --> \\myPC\WORK Can I do that with Sync? I have searched but unable to find any way to do so.

Good Question man_25. I'd like to do something similar - but on the same machine. My PC has a small SSD C: drive for OS and a big internal (RAID0) D: hard drive for data and programs. I'd like Sync Center to save offline copies on the D: drive, not the C: drive, but haven't found how to change the folder it stores data in. MS - where are you?

My computer came with a 100GB HD and I installed a 500GB Internal HD to accomodate a 500GB External Ethernet HD. I thought I would be able to link the External with the Internal through Sync Center but am also coming accross that problem. I want the Main Drive to handle basic core functions and the Internal to handle the rest. Now Im forced to use the Main Drive (100GB) to handle the workload of the External HD (500GB) unless the computer recognizes the Internal HD and uses it once the 100GB Capacity was met on the Main. Do you think MSDN went this far in the thought process? I guess I'll find out when the Main Drive meets capacity unless an answer arises. I hope I get an answer soon.
