Where do I find the 'Computer Dictionary'???
Are the terms 'instant message/messaging' and 'chat' synonymous? If yes, what determines its respective use (e.g. 'preference') in context? If no, define and/or explain their differences. What is the logic of 'Social Networking'? Also, is there space within the WLSC that provides a 'schematic' or 'visual map' of the various terms found on a typical web page/site; a basic reference for the new user? Perhaps 'tutorial' is the more applicable term I'm attempting to describe? Better still, WHY must I become a nuisance to the computer-enlightened to solicit answers to questions that I, MYSELF cannot endeavor to solve? Pain - schmain! Somone, "feel my frustration!!" I don't intend to be unkind, but because of the wording, this sounds to me like you have been assigned school homework and are asking for others to do your work instead of expending the time to research it yourself."Instant Messaging" and "chatting" are pretty much identical, although at one time, "chat" referred more specifically to using the "IRC" (Internet Relay Chat) protocol and there are IRC clients still available. Often, "chat" referrs to a many-to-many conversation with multiple participants in a "chat room" where anything each participant types is seen by all participants.I doubt the Windows Live Solution Center contains a map of terms. Google or Wikipedia would be a better source.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]--------------------------------https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Brian.TillmanIf a reply helps, please vote it as helpful.
