Where can I find a list of Computers that ship with a BitLocker TPM Chip?
I'm very frustrated that Microsoft does not keep a dynamic list of Computers that are Manufactured with TPM Chips. Without such a list, I’m being forced to contact each company separately and ask because they usually don’t include this information in their public specs. BitLocker will never be widely adapted unless it because a feature that users look for when purchasing a PC or Laptop or NetBook or Tablet. Microsoft has a Hardware Compatibility Site and has other sites where this info can be hosted, but once again has put out a technology without the proper amount of support. I've contacted DELL and for their Laptops only the Precision and Latitude lines contain the TPM Chip. Only 300 more computer companies to do.

Hi, I need to advise that The TPM specification is the work of the Trusted Computing Group. You may refer to the following link to find out the vendor ID. http://www.trustedcomputinggroup.org/developers/trusted_platform_module This depends on the manufacturer. Yes, you are correct. It is frustrating. The FAQ's at the TCG reveal that the major commercial manufacturers offer TPM in servers and clients, mostly in their business line of computers. So, if you have a favorite (or a few) vendors, they most likely support it and build computers and\or motherboards. http://www.trustedcomputinggroup.org/developers/trusted_platform_module/faq So, immediately add any computer manufacturer that you can remember the name of to your list and they will have a product with TPM. I wouldn't look for Microsoft to provide a vendor list as you can use BitLocker without a TPM module. (usb key storage) The TPM chip is only a part of the security implementation. I do differ with you on the adaptation-I would say it is already implemented by those that really need it. Don't look for widespread use by the average user-many reasons...but just use those that come to mind first.

My old desktop board M2NBP-VM CSM has a slot for a TPM but I never populated it with one. My current desktop board lacks such a slot and does not have anything soldered to the board either. My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee. Visit my IT site for information. I am best with C++ and I am learning C# using Visual Studio 2010. My page on Video Card Problems is now my most popular landing page.
