Where are CheckSums for MS Downloads?
Does microsoft publish the MD5 and/or SHA-1 checksum values for their downloadable-software? If so .. where? This week i've been downloading the Windows-7 Beta, DirectX-SDK, Windows-7-SDK-Beta etc. etc. Most of them tend to fail on the first-try and I can't seem to find the checksums for them... eg. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a91dc12a-fc94-4027-b67e-46bab7c5226c&DisplayLang=enThanks.

For 32 bit:MD5 Hashes: f9dce6ebd0a63930b44d8ae802b63825These are for my download and they are the same for other downloads as well so I would say this is accurate.BTW I asked this question in another post. I have no idea why Microsoft didn't provide the info.BTW The 64 bit someone who has the 64 bit hashes should post them on this forum. I have seen them other places.

Geoderrick, Thanks for the reply! :)However my question/point was precisely: Where is MICROSOFT publishing the hashes? And if their not, why not?I don't recall ever seeing them for anything I've ever downloaded from MS. and users shouldn't have to google and rely on community-forum support to find a specific checksum. FWIW the windows7-beta 7000 x64 checksum is: 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.ISOMD5: 773fc9cc60338c612af716a2a14f177d
