When using Internet Explorer 8 I keep getting an error window saying that it encountered an error and must close.
I'm usingXP with SP2 and downloaded IE8 yesterday.Isearched the support pages and found the follwing information in my system. Under "Internet Settings" the files named "iecont.dll" and "iecontlc.dll" are listed asmissing in the"Version" pane. I deleted and downloaded IE8 a second time but keep on getting the must shut down error and the files are still missing. It doesn't matter what page I am viewing or going to it just seems to happen at will without any sepecific type of usage or website used.6 people need an answerI do too

HI After numerous computers and various versions of Win XP and a number of reinstalls of Vista on a laptop. I Kept getting the Adobe Download Manager NOS Micro systems Getplus Player. IE. "Transfer Manager" The only thing I can find after lots of attempts and messing around with the Adobe program. It seems that a reason for a problem was not only conflicting (but never knew of it because of the Adobe DLM didn't pick it up) was that I had always had some other flash application, program. etc. running at the same time.I did however get the ActiveX control to register and show in the Add-on manager of IE8 on both Win XP and Vista. PSI by Secunia always was running at the same time. It uses a flash player Object ActiveX control Extension. did not notice that until one time, I downloaded the flash player with PSI by Secunia. Adobe Flash Player would not install until all flash dependent programs were closed.I always updated the extension from the downloaded programs folder in explorer, but after restart it always was damaged and the associated files were then missing again!I removed it as of now and will try to just install the Adobe DLM by itself but wonder if it would be more worth it to inform NOS ltd.A.
