When should those of us who were invited to beta test Windows 7 expect the free copy, or notification email?
As a MS Partner, I was invited to beta test Windows 7. When should those of us who were invited to beta test Windows 7 expect the free copy, or notification email? Also, since the RTM is suppossedly due to be released on Technet today, will it also be available to schools through the MSDNAA??? If not today, when?

Information you are seeking can be found in the Microsoft Connect Windows 7 Beta newsgroups. If you arean authorizedWindows 7 beta tester, you should know how to access those newsgroups.Carey Frisch

I was invited for the "WDK Beta program for Windows 7" through MS Connect. Does this mean i should recieve a free copy of the RTM? Or is it only for TechNet subscribers? I was sent an e-mail to get the Beta and the RC before the public release so im wondering if i should be eligible for the free RTM Thanks Ali

I was sent an email from Microsoft inviting me to beta test but i dont know how to access the newsgroups. My connection is called "Windows Ecosystem".Here is the e-mail: Dear WDK/WLK User:I would like to invite you to join the WDK Beta program for Windows 7. The PC Ecosystem Connect site will provide you with Windows 7 beta downloads of: The WDK Free and Checked Builds of the OS Symbols The WLK The Windows SDK The feedback link at the site will create a report that goes directly into the Windows 7 bug database - you will get email as your issue is resolved, so you can track it.Please join the beta, download the WDK, and make sure all of your drivers build correctly using the new WDK. Also, check out OACR - it runs Prefast for Drivers by default whenever you build a driver.Use this link to join the beta:http://connect.microsoft.com/InvitationUse.***(removed by me)Thank you for your help.WDK TeamThanks againAli

Hi Ali The beta program you described is not the Windows 7 Client beta program. It looks like the Windows Driver Kit/Windows Logo Kit beta, which is completely separate from the Windows 7 client technical beta program.Whenever, you do receive an invitation like this, you should respond immediately by going to the Connect website and confirming your participation.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
