When rebooting, does the hard drive spin down?
I was wondering if the hard drive(s) spins down and then back up when rebooting Windows or if it or they keep powered all the time whether they are controlled by a RAID controller or not? If kept powered all the time, then a frequent reboots would not negatively affect the hard drive's life. Thanks.

Well, one important point to consider is that during a reboot, the hard drive is being accessed often as Windows initializes. If you are using an SSD, on the other hand, that would not be a concern.
