When is Windows having something like this?
Greetings,I think many of us are missing an administrative tool able to detail every single folder in our HDs. Something like this:RegardsW7 RC x64 running....

Reckon - Ah.. yes.. Treesize Pro.. Love the app. Given that if Microsoft were to include this functionality in Windows, they would be depriving Jam Software of their income, thus inviting the DOJ to come down on them like a ton of bricks - I'd have to say the proverbial snowball has a better chance in a blast furnace.

Greetings Wolfie2k6,well, they maybe could include a tool with very limited features, but at least something where to check folder's size, etc. Don't want the whole functionality Treesize Pro or others give, but at least a minimum.Regards,W7 RC x64 running....

Reckon - Greetings! They kinda sorta already do - it's called the Properties box for the folder in question. Very limited, non graphical, and quite inoffensive toward anyone. It doesn't getany more minimal than that..!

Tools to do it exist, they are simply not built into Explorer. A script or macrocould calculate percentages, and use VML and HTML or XML to make a GUI graph. Admins have those skills, others use a third pary app. There's nothing wrong with making something easy for the unskilled user, but the story of the 'good ship Vasa' makes it a choice on how many 'features' you put on the deck of the ship. (The Vasa became top-heavy from too many guns on the upper deck, and flipped on the maiden voyage)Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

I use treesize free on the very rare times when I need it. Otherwise I'm thankful not to have that info to look at.Kris
