When do you need to renew the system repair disc in windows 7
Hi, Whenever I make system changes in windows 7, I make a system image backup. When that backup is done, it also asks if I want to make a system repair disc. As I have already got one, I usually answer no. However, it does pose the question: when does one need to renew the system repair disc? For example: is it necessary when one updates to SP1? And are there maybe other special conditions that would require to renew the system repair disc? Many thanks for any insights into this matter,

I don't believe its necessary to make new one. As long as you have a system image the current Windows 7 repair disc should be fine. The disc basically lets you get to your system image. It doesn't actually repair anything.

Hi, System repair disc includes the Windows Recovery tool. If you encounter the boot issue, the System repair disc can help you access to your system image backup. However, there is no need to recreate it because it only contains Windows Recovery tool.
