When I start up windows i get a message to update Mcafee Antivirus when I don't have mcafee installed anymore. Is there a way to get this message not to show up when I boot up.
When I boot up I get a message that i need to up date Mcafee Antivirus. I would like to get rid of that message because I no longer have Mcafee Antivirus installed.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hello Jed Oldham There must still be an Updater installed. You will probably find it in Control Panel/Add Remove Programs.Just uninstall it.If it is not there look for it in msconfig
Start/Run and type in
msconfig
OK
Startup Tab
Keep the page open then go to the link below. It will tell you what all the entries are and whether you can disable them or not. It will also identify any malware. Disable everything which is not needed to run at start up
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
Read the Key at top of page. Use the Search box to check all your entries
When you reboot you will get a message saying you have started in "Selective Startup" Click "Don`t show this message again" then OK.

Thank you, but I tried going to add/remove and there was nothing there. I also went into the msconfig and still was unable to find anything. Is there anything else thatI might be able to try to get rid of the message.

Try the steps here
Step 2 is MCPR.exe which is a removal tool. Give it a go as well.
