When I log on I get the Privacy Center Screen that will not close stating I have all these security problems, that I have to update the software for one year or permanently, etc. How do I get this screen to close and my log on process to complete?
A few days ago I turned on my computer and tried to log on under my name. After a few seconds of the screen telling me it was logging on, instead of the regular screen with all the icons appearing, I got a screen with the Privacy Center logo and a notice that my security was very low and things needed to be fixed. So when I clicked on start location, a new screen came up that said my security license had expired in October and I needed to renew it at a cost of $59.00. So I went to the next screen to do that and discovered the screen will only recognize VISA cards. I tried to close this screen and the Privacy Center Screen and I get a message that I am not allowed to close it. When I log on using my wife's user icon, this does not happen. What is going on?? Can anyone tell me??1 person needs an answerI do too

Privacy Center is a rogue security program. It is called "rogue" because it pretends to be A Good Guy but is really Evil. Do not pay them! Because your wife's account isn't affected, you probably got lucky and the malicious files are only in your account and haven't yet infected the whole computer. Go through the preparatory steps at the link here: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Then do a scan in your account with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware . Use the free version. Update it after you install it and then do a Quick Scan to start with. If that takes care of the problem, great. If not, go through the more thorough malware removal steps described at the first link above. If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
