When I log into my PC I see a ThinkPoint window.
This is a result of your PC being infected with malicious software (Win32/FakePAV). The ThinkPoint window will restrict access to your desktop or programs such as Internet Explorer. To remove this, please follow the steps below: 1. When you boot your PC you will see a ThinkPoint window with two options, Normal Startup and Safe Startup. Choose Safe Startup.2. A scan will take place for up to five minutes. Allow the scan to complete.3. In the ThinkPoint window click Settings, and then check Allow unprotected startup. Click Save settings.4. Once the scan is complete close the ThinkPoint window.5. Click the Start button (Windows XP) and click Run. For (Windows Vista or Windows 7) click the Pearl button and then in the Search field type Run and hit enter.6. Type cmd and click OK. (If you see a User Account Control Window appear, clickYes).7. Type tasklist and press Enter.8. Scroll through the list and confirm that hotfix.exe is running.9. If hotfix.exe is running, type taskkill/IM hotfix.exe and then press Enter.10. Go to the Windows Live Onecare Safety Scanner at: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm11. Click Full Service Scan.12.
