I am using the link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx it will work you just have to have a little patience and some luck tossed in there too. I am trying to get both x86 and x64 one for work one for personal laptop. Keep refreshing or go back and click the > button again if you get the 'server to busy' message.

This reminds me of when amazon.com ran a special on the Xbox 360 and there were just a few hundred of them. Their servers completely crashed out. One would think that companys would see this coming and prepare accordingly. But alas tis the world of the internet.

This is crazy!The whole server has just conked out!It's like when Amazon.co.uk crashed when it opened pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii. The pre-orders closed 3 seconds after they were open. That's right, 3 seconds. Millions of units snapped up in 3 seconds.I've gotten as far as the survey.

what survey? I just keep refreshing the windows 7 main page, and am not seeing any links or updates. Yesterday my vista started its death throes for the millionth time (anything requiring UAC causes a "not a valid win32 application" error) so instead of reinstalling vista again, I want to give windows 7 a chance before doing something rash like buying an acbook-may.

hello,i getmy key at 9PM, but middle european timezone (germany) so in the USA it must be 2PM, i didn't get any emailthe key just appeared on my screen.I started download the beta but when the file reached 23% my download stopped so i waited for 5 minutes but nothing happend, i closed the download manager but now the downloadmanager doesn't open again....i was awaiting a beta key for 1 1/2 hour....where can i get the GER version?? is the download deactivated, forthe german W7 version? i requested the key after i registred me for the W7 beta,....in germany the download for the beta was possible to download at 5PM (in USA 11AM)so i get a download manager from microsoft but i couldn't open it again after the download was interrupted.....so i can only download the english version but i will use the german ones...but i can say...our servers were overloaded for 5 hours...now they're down!!

i live in germany and we had access to the download area at 5PM (11AM in the USA)after waiting 1hour (ms profile server was very busy ;) ) i can give my email adress and some informations about me to microsoft..after that i was directed to YOUR link....i press f5 for more than 1 1/2 hour...then i could copy my W7 Key and a button for download it.what happened next you can read on my first post ;)so i ask if i can open the download managerone time more..

Last night the Windows 7 beta Customer preview where there was the option to choose 32-bit or 64-bit OS was working fine... got all the way to email confirmation. The link to finalize though is not working yet

the diffrent is the architecture of the prezessor you have 64bit memorydatalanes...a higher transferspeed...normally you'll have a faster workspeed(from windows and form the hardware) as a 32bit user.sry 4 my english..if you dont understand me look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64bit

I personally think that VM is the way to go on a beta. Here's a question can you run a 64bit vm on top of a 32bit host OS? never tried it.

Using virtual machines is on option but virtual machines have a lot of limitations as well. They work fine in certain situations and not good at all in others, like anything graphics intensive.

Im going to install this (hopefully... if I ever get it) on a PC with windows xp (32-bit) on one drive and I've freed up a second drive for the windows 7 (64bit) install. Does anyone know if I can create a dual boot with these two without any problems. If I just install a fresh copy of window 7 from boot up will it recognise the win xp 32 bit copy and add it to the boot manager so that I can shoose which operating system to boot up - or will it not work like that.... If not I'll diable my xp drive and then install windows 7.

If you need some help with Windows 7 stuffs try these forums. http://windows7news.com/forum/.Oh and a nice trick for getter around programs that won't install on wnt6.0... ei W7 just right click on the exe and click "troubleshoot compatiblity" it lets you run it as if on Vista or XP ect. That trick helped with audio drivers since asus' program check what OS you are installing on. GLJ.oE.

Hmm, this is very disappointing. I signed up and I thought I would get a chance to download the beta, but it told me there was an error and to come back in 1 business day. Now the option of downloading it has been removed, HAH! C'mon Microsoft, server downtime and taking down the option of downloading of the beta looks pretty bad on your part. I would say this is the equivalent of the Cisco website going down for whatever reason, it just shouldn't happen. Ever. Well I suppose I'll check on it tomorrow, but seriously! C'mon Microsoft!! Wait, someone have the link for 64bit version?

the provided download link is windows 7 english us version. you can chose to install a lot of versions (ultimate, home, ... etc.)vmware recognizes the CD as vista x64

Just redownloading it since the first complete download was corrupted because of the f....g free download manager and it goes with 1+ megs/sec

When the Teamblog site was up The guy it the servers wouldn't be up until 6PM probably, I am betting that is pacific Time since the 12:00 time was pacific. So I bet we're all waiting at least 2 more hours.

For me I'm hoping it is faster than Vista in general, but am looking to be disappointed as Windows 7 is built on the Vista backbone as I understand it. In general though I have had very few issues with Vista, and have run it since it was in beta.

Yay... got windows 7 installed finally. Used the 64bit key on a 32 bit install and it works great. As far as some not being able to go to the site with the key, I tried from within IE6, and it redirected to microsoft 7 page... however, from within FF3, it worked. And I did try and get several extra keys, but kept getting the same key each time I went, so unfortunately can't spread the wealth. Sorry.

Hey, so check it out. I was attempting to download earlier today on my laptop and got to the fill in page before it failed. Then I had been trying this F5 trick for the past 45 minutes to no avail (i logged into the profile center and all that jazz). Still no luck. Then when I went back to the laptop of my initial download attempt, that trick took in the first or second try. Hope this helps somebody. So, if you did get to the "fill some fields in page" of the download process...that trick should work. But it seems to be hooked to your windows passport and the computer...(windows cache). BTW, I had killed my internet cache earlier today and that doesn't seem to matter.

I installed the x64 version about three hours ago. I did not need a key to install. It will function for 30 days without a key.I just went back to the same link where I downloaded the 64 bit version and am now downloading the 32 bit version (approx. 4:40z). I'm sure the key issue will be sorted out before the end of the 30 day limit.

I could be wrong as I've just been reading and trying to make things happen, but from what I have read and deduced it seems that this "trick" only works if you were attemtping to download through technet and you had either succeeded or atleast got far enought (the form entry...where you had to enter in a coupld of fields). If you just followed one of the iso links to perform your download, i don't believe it will work.

after like an hour of pressing F5 nonstop I managed to get a 64-bit key. Finally! Now if only my download would finally finish... At least I can go to bed now! The 64-bit key does work with the 32-bit one, no? I just wanna make sure I didn't get the wrong one! Good luck everyone. I was about to give up then it appeared for me so it's just a matter of time/luck I guess. (I used FF3 btw.)EDIT: I also never got any fields to enter before. So you don't have to have entered fields previously (before the "crash") to obtain a key. Just gotta be paitent with the F5... >.<

You highlight the text you want to watch. In this case the error message. And then right click and chose Check4Change. I did custom settings and 10 second interval. Also check the bring to front box.Also what do you mean by messenger?

Hmm.. interesting. I just tried to get another key and was able to after about ten minutes and guess what? The key is the exact same as the one I previously got. Perhaps identical keys are being given out? Obviously we've already confirmed there isn't just one universal key but there could be dozens, if not hundreds.(Or maybe this key is linked to my IP address and there's a limit of one per IP. Anyone know if this is the case?)I'll try the 32bit link and see if I get a different key...

I used the check4change plugin on the 64bit key link and I got a key about 5 minutes ago. It took about 2 hours with my check set to 5 seconds but I finally did get one. Several times, I got a warning and it took me to the windows/live search page that everyone has been being redirected to. I simply waited about 2 minutes, refreshed the page manually till I saw the error message page again and then re-enabled c4c again. That happened about 4 times in my 2 hour wait after the c4c install. Before that I was refreshing manually once every 2-7 minutes or so.

People, just download the OS using the many links already provided. This will give you 30 days to use Windows 7. Then wait another 24-48 hours and everyone will have a key. Stop worrying. well, if you can't get a key, just hit the torrents and take your chances on a hack. there is a 50% chance that you will or will not get a virus. That'll be my last resort... I'd rather buy the software than have to replace my systemboard cause some a$$hol- put a virus in the software that screwed my motherboard.And still looking for the key. been almost 12 hours now. C4C and other macro programs are being used by many I am sure. eventually they have to get the servers straightened out. I am sure they will allocate bandwith from other servers to help the problem. Given that it is 12 am there, I am sure there won't be any change for at least another 8-10 hours.

I was refering to the product key hack. I don't know enough about hacking and the such to know anything about the md5 checksums. I have the iso downloaded and burned from here. I know a friend that downloads alot from them and has nothing but computer problems all the time. So, I prefer to stay legit... besides I am a college student and get discounts on everything... lol

how big is the 32 bit windows 7 iso file because it has just finished downloading for me after narly 1 hour and it says the file size is 1.1gb but whilst downloading it said the filesize was 2.4 gb. so i am a bit confused???also i have just run a burn simulation and the file checks out.

i'm just leaving FF to do C4C and am reading my book, already finsihed one book doing this! hahaam guessing the earliest we get any official news fo any sort will be 9am Seattle time.on the windows team blog, a microsoft fella said people worrying about missing out on keys once its up and running shouldn't worry, but he can't say anything more than that yet. general consensus is that they're either gonna make it more than 2.5 million keys, or just remove the limit and anyone can have one.wasn't the Vista beta key based on a limit of you had to get a key within a certain period or you missed out rather than a limit like 2.5 million?

I also got the same keys!I tested it in the vmware, and the key is accepted but activation fails.I also can only get those keys in ff. In chrome and ie 8 it always redirects me to the windows 7 mainpage.

Ok so I have 3 64 bit keys, just in case one doesn't work, where do I get the download from since it isn't downloading on MS's official site and what do I have to do to activate it through the phone service?Cheers

I first tried downloading the file and it kept sticking - the I used that download manager and it whizzed along without problem. Best to start again if it stops until it goes all the way through.

I tried the direct download to the .iso twice and it stopped at around 200 MB, so it doesn't work.

ok i can comfirm whent to activet it and was a error so i used the phone activtion and its all go that was 64bit btwjust about to try the same key but on my laptop and activtion via phone if it works then we know all keys are same and just use phone actvion

ok its true all keys are the same i just have used the same key for my pc and laptop just had to use phone acvtion and its good now all you need to sort out is the download i got mine last night so cant help you there rember once installed use phone actvion becuase it will fail if you just click actvite now good luck everyone
