What security is enhanced by deleting user profiles on logout??
IT Department in all its wisdom has decided that user profiles need to be deleted on log off. They claim that it is for "security reasons". Log in that used to take 2 minutes unattended, now can take 7 - 9 minutes with numerous clicks and selections from menus. Every time students log into a computer, they have to dance the dance. The class period is scarcely over an hour. Is there any intelligence to this? P.S. What are Points? Will I be able to redeem them for cash, airline tickets or other valuable merchandise?

Hi, In my opinion, I think the purpose of the IT department is that don't wanna users to leave any using history. It may be due to the protection of personal privacy.Spencer TechNet Community Support

It sounds valid, sort of..... I then wonder why the instructor's computer has the same treatment. It is reported that all instructor's activity is saved, by law, especially e-mail. It would also seem to me that search history would be saved too... Yet it too is deleted. Set ups are deleted, Short cuts deleted, Interesting? or am I developing a conspiracy here (-: OTOH, doesn't MS have a "Delete History On Log out" option? It is still crazy that we still have to take 8 - 10 minutes extra every time we log-in and especially so when the computer locks up and we have to log in a second time during the same class. More so since no one seems to be able to say why except then they use the catch-all phrase: "For security reasons".
