What is the different between lync 2010 enterprise multi tenant and Lync 2010 Enterprise
Hi,hidewu,
Would you please tell me where did you see "enterprise multi tenant cannot support PIC to MSN",I haven't heard that.
For the difference between Lync enterprise Edition and Lync Multi-tenant ,they are targeted for different users, the Lync Enterprise Edition is for the Enterprise Users who need administrate the Lync service by their own;the Lync Multi-tenant is a unified
communications (UC) solution for telecom and hosting providers, the solution enables service providers to host multitenant Lync Server instances shared across multiple customer environments. In addition, the Lync Server Multitenant Hosting
Pack solution includes an add-on layer that allows our partners to build communication packages that use the Lync Server Multitenant Hosting Pack to integrate with the core layer.
Regarding the features or functions the two editions provided to the end users is similar .

Sharon

But at the end i saw the script to enable PIC script for tenant, it so confuse.
I am a hoster, i already deploy Lync Enterprise last year. i am thinking; install Lync Multitenant and migrate all existing user to it.
For now i cannot see any benefit for this when i already have Lync Enterprise

Hi,Hidewu,
After reading the Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack for Partner Hosting Deployment Guide I found that under section 1.4 Known Issues it is stated, By design, public IM connectivity is not supported in this release.
I also have discussed with some guys about this question and was told that it maybe limited by the licensing that Microsoft have with PIC providers,if a hosting company wishes to make it available to their tenants they
would need to contract with the PIC providers separately.

Sharon
