What is the Location of content added to conferences within the Lync servers C Drive?

Hi

When a user adds , say a powerpoint presentation to a meeting and then leaves the meeting with the content still in the meeting, can a lync admin retrieve the attachment from within explorer on the lyncserver?  IF so, where can I find it?

Thanks

Hi,Neoband,

Yes,meeting content is stored in the Lync file share folder, you can retrieve them under "1-webservices-1" on Lync file share server.

If you would like to delete the meeting content periodically to release the disk space, you can run cmdlet Set-CsConferencingConfiguration with parameter ContentGracePeriod to set how long conference content will remain on the server following the end of the conference. Details you can check

Hi thanks for that. However when i upload files I still cannot see the data in those folders. Meetingcontent is empty.

I checked the other folders within 1-webservices and could not find anything. I was hoping to be able to view the content directly i.e. word and excel docs.

Thanks

Hi,NEOband,

Would you please give more details about "upload files"?Would you please try to share a PPT then check again?

Have you deployed archiving server in your deployment?

Hi

I have uploaded a ppt file and do not see it in the webservices folder or its subfolders. Which folder do you see them in?

No i do not have an archiving server.

Thanks

The x-Webservices-x\CollabContent and x-Webservices-x\CollabMetaData sub folders is where the data will be temporarily stored.

Hi

Your answer lead me to google search and find the meeting viewer tool

I used this Lync Meeting Viewer

Hi Jeff,

Are these folders are located in the shared folder? You also mentioned temporarily so does this mean by default all files shared during web conferencing are deleted after the session? Does this mean the file shared doesn't need high disk space? I attended a CIE last week and they mentioned that the files uploaded are cached locally to the attendees of the meeting so now I'm confused.

For the SQL database , does it require a big disk space? so a 136 space should be enough for the database?

Sorry Jeff for the many questions. I hope you can clear this up for me. Thank you in advance.

Hi Jeff,

How long time is saved the data? what does it mean " temporarily stored" ? few hours?

Thanks!
