What is regsvr43.exe?
Hi, today while I was investigating a beeping noise that windows makes when pressing a button that doesn't respond, I decided to check my task manager to see what application was making that noise. When I looked at all the processes I saw regsvr43.exe was running with a lot of ram allocated to it. It was stated to be a Microsoft process, but I never heard of it and I checked on the internet to see if there is any information on it, and there was no results on it. Anyway I decide to try and scanning it with several virus scans, but nothing came up. I then deleted it since I was pretty sure it wasn't suppose to be there. When I rebooted my computer all my device drivers were disabled, and system restore wasn't working. So again my question is what is regsvr43.exe, and is it suppose to be there?

This file is not part of Windows 7. It looks like a trojan/virus. Please scan your system"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi Razeruk, There is no related information can be found for this file. Please install Microsoft Security Essentials and see if it can be removed from the system. I also found this process and worked out why Microsoft Security Esentials doesn't show it as a virus. Apon initiating a scan, the process shuts down and doesn't act as a virus. I'm manually deleted this file, but i'm unsure if that will keep.

I have also same opinion that it is not a part of Windows 7. So it is advisable to scan your PC.

Also try a system restore to a snapshot before the first appearance of that file. Best greetings from Germany Olaf
