After the beta expiration date of August 1st Windows 7 will cease to be functional. You will probaly find that you can boot initially but then you will have a constant loop of boot>restart etc. Your only option then is to update the beta or if Windows 7 has reached RTM buy a copy of the operating system. Like I have said many time before, colakid, only Microsoft know exactly when Windows 7 will be released. We can all keep speculating but that is all it is, speculation. Either way if Windows 7 doesn't RTM by August then I would expect a further beta. Of course, by that time we should be into the release candidate stage.John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

Thanks for the reply John!! I hope 7 is available by Aug, or at least another beta! Could I reset the clock in the BIOS to get 7 to run past Aug 1st? I still have vista on my other HD so Im not worried, I'd like to continue using 7 though!

That little trick, Frankie, Microsoft caught onto years ago. Resetting the clock will cause problems for, not only Windows 7, but also your Vista install, so my advice is leave well alone.I have to admit, I find Windows 7 pretty stable but, sadly, like with its predecessor, Windows Vista, i'm still not getting the WoW factor.John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

I see, Im glad I asked first lol. What, in your opinion, is missing from 7 that would give it the "wow" factor?
