What are the proper security settings to prevent viruses?
Recently turned on computer, went to Yahoo and then immediately got the "Intrusion alert" and my antivirus picked up on a Win32/Fuqel or something. it came up as what is called as Rogue security service phishing scam virus. I recognized it quickly and then used Malware remover to get the virus removed. I think it is gone. Trying to confirm that now. How can I be sure that this virus is gone? I didn't type in any sensitive information but should I be worried about hacking into passwords or tracking my keystrokes? How can I prevent this from happening again? I'm afraid my firewall or security are not strong enough to prevent this and I've had a lot of problems with XP over the years. I also uninstalled and then reinstalled microsoft internet explorer. I have IE 8 running now on MS XP. I'm running webroot antivirus. Any suggestions for settings to prevent phishing scams like Rogue security would be appreciated. Thanks,1 person needs an answerI do too
