What's the secret to setting up a wireless home network with a wireless laptop running Windows 7 and a desktop running Windows XP?
I'm trying to set up a home network with a wireless laptop running Windows 7 and a desktop running Windows XP. I also have a wireless router connected to my modem and a wireless adaptor connected to the desktop. Can't figure out what's preventing me from setting up the network (wireless laptop, wireless printer, & desktop with HP printer wired to the desktop).

Hi, What the exactly error your received from the network? Can each computer access the Internet through the router successfully? I suggest updating the router firmware from the manufacture's site. Also make sure TCP/IP setting is correct. The following article will guide you to set up a home network. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Setting-up-a-home-network Regarding the wireless printer, please make sure you can ping it successfully. After that, you can refer to the following article. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-a-printer-on-a-home-network Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
