With every type of backup, you will need to change the file name or location.

What's differential backup type? Will differentialbackup type every days replace the old backups from previous days?

Differential backs up all changed files and leaves the archive bit on. Meaning... if you have a full backup, you will need only the latest differential tape. If i back up on Monday a full backup and then on Tuesday and Wednesday i do an differential backup, when i go to restore i would need to use the full backup, then just wednesday's backup to get all the data back.

I have setup a differential backup type daily automatically with Ntbackup wizard daily backups are stored in the same external Hard Drive. Will daily differential backup type replace the old backups from previous days?
