I have a director that is in front of our FE servers.

When I set the meeting URL to "meet.company.com" and use a host file to point it to a FE server  Web Access works. However, when I point the "meeting url" to a director server, I get a blank page.

On the director server, is it OK to have the Internal URL and the External URL set to be the same? 

What is the right way to set up the director?

You shouldn't get a blank page, try rerunning the steps of th deployment wizard on the director again. Internal and external web service names shouldn't matter too much because there are no users on the director pool to really use it. But the internal and external should be different on all other pools and those will need to be published.

Please try to rerun step 1,2,3,4 on Lync Director Server, make sure the SAN entry meet.company.com on the certificate.

Make sure Lync Services started on Lync Director Server.
