Want to use different User Accounts, but need to remove network first.
I am attempting to delete my home network (which I no longer need on this computer). It was originally set up to link my PC with my TiVo (however my internet connection is not fast enough to make use of it). I want to get rid of the network as doing so is necessary for me to be able to use different User Accounts and, particularly, to enable Fast User Switching among them. I can't figure out how to remove the network. Please help!1 person needs an answerI do too

I'm not sure what you mean by "remove the network". What exactly do you see that you want to remove? How does it affect Fast User Switching? How does it affect your ability to use different user accounts?Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional

From what I've been able to find out so far, it is not possible to use different user accounts (i.e. only one user account is accessible) if there is a home network set up on a Windows Vista PC. That is the only reason I am asking about "removing the network". My #1 priority is to use 2 different user accounts and to be able to utilize Fast User Switching among them (so that logging off and losing unsaved work is not necessary when the 2nd user in my household wants to use his account). I hope that clarifies what I am attempting to accomplish. Thank you, Fiona

Thanks for the additional information. I'm not sure what you're referring to, though. A networked computer can have more than one user account, and all of the accounts can access the network. Have you created two accounts and tried Fast User Switching? What happens if you do?Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional
